I like to video deer & birds, and take pistures of my various projects. This camera may be all I need for the time being. Thanks for the upload.

When focus is sharp on the subjects, depress the shutter the rest of the way. The background is out of focus, the subject in focus. This is called 'depth of field.' If subjects are standing right in front of the background then it would be in focus too. It's an automatic camera in most respects, but can be set to some manual modes. Try it out before you buy.
